Vegetarian low protein diet could be key to long life

This article is about low protein diet and its effect on longevity. I is believed that a vegetarian low protein diet could the new longevity pill. Studies in Britain show that a low protein diet, particularly those found in fish, meat and nuts slow the aging process and extend life expectancy.

Before scientists believed that an "Ultra Low Calorie" (60% of normal) was the key to a long life. However, now British researcher believe that the low intake of a specific amino acid called Methionine is the answer to a longer life. This amino acid is essential in the production of proteins. And it is found largely in fish, meat, Brazil nuts and same seeds.

Dr. Matthew Piper from the Institute of Healthy Aging at the University College in London said that a vegetarian diet is the key. And also suggested a diet low in methionine.

While living longer sound s great, a diet low in proteins can be very challenging. And since proteins are the build blocks, a diet too low in proteins present serious implications leading to complications such as malnutrition and some cases even death.

  1. Becoming a vegetarian may have some benefit's research found. They found that by cutting out poultry, it may effect your life. You would stay alive longer and be healthier. By cutting calories by 30 percent it can help reduce risks of developing heart disease or cancer by half and increase lifetimes by nearly a third.

I think this article can affect the way many people feel about becoming a vegetarian. This affects the food industry because if more people change the way they eat, more restaurants have to change what they produce. I think that this is going to be a fad because being a vegetarian is a life changing option and many people are not willing to do it for life. I do not think that this has a very high impact in our future because it is so drastic.

  2. When changing your lifestyle to a vegetarian can have its advantages and disadvantages. I believe that having a high calorie diet will increase your risk of heart attacks, and will decrease your health. However, calories are a main source of energy. If you decide to cut out all calories, then you would have to find another form of energy to keep are body moving. Cutting all calories could be harmful to your body. I agree with the idea of having protein, such as fish or healthier proteins, in your body because they are very healthy and will increase your living. I believe this is just a fad because not everyone is going to believe the vegetarian lifestyle. People will want to enjoy their lives, instead of consuming healthier foods all the time. Overall, very interesting article, but I believe the vegetarian lifestyle will have its flaws.

  3. I completely agree with this article and many other professional literary documents and experiments support these accusations such as the China Study and 80/20/20. My friend Kieth Lopez M.S., B.S Nutritionist and Exercise Scientist(www.ogfit.com) proclaims that a low protein diet is extremely beneficiary in many different ways even for young people which is usually the debate about growing bodies and protein usages especially when highly athletically evolved. Keith explains that he has higher levels of energy and alertness and is less tired on average than when he ate alot of protein. This contests to the articles beliefs and is very interesting and could prove helpful with lack of land for livestock and growing populations.
